Personal Style

by Kimberly Hickok

We all know someone who has a distinctive personal style. You know what I’m talking about. You’re in a store and you see an outfit and you say to yourself, ‘That outfit looks just like my friend, Kelly!’ You say that because your friend has her own style that makes her stand out in a crowd.

That’s something that I’ve been struggling with for a few years now. My wardrobe is full of clothes to fit all the activities in my life. I have professional clothes for work, casual clothes for relaxing, dressy clothes for a night out on the town and outdoor wear for camping and hiking. So  clothes aren’t the issue for me. The issue for me is having a style that matches my personality and that is easily associated with me.

I don’t have it figured out yet but I am narrowing it down. I like feminine clothing that shows the fact that I’m a woman with curves. I like classic clothes with a twist like a classic trench coat in a bright kelly green instead of khaki or a paisley print.

I’m not there yet but I’m on a mission.

What’s your style?

I often ask myself this question – I consider myself somewhat of a fashion faux pas… but I pull off business-causal well… it seems to suit my personality.
