A Nor’easter is roaring up the coast. It’s raining and 50 mph winds have been forecast. This gray, rainy morning I’m enjoying a cup of coffee and some of my favorite blogs. Grab your favorite beverage and check them out.

New Dress A Day – I admire the creativity of this young woman. The premise? She searches thrift stores/vintage shops and purchases the most god awful looking dresses for $1. She then ‘remakes’ them into something wearable. Her promise? 365 days, 365 dollars, 365 dresses.

Bo’s Bowl – Bo’s tagline? Lick it clean. Love that. He’s an Alabama cook (maybe chef?) that puts a southern spin on everything he does. His recipes are easy to follow and he’s provided me with the inspiration to venture into Indian cooking. You’ll also find recipes for cocktails, his comments on wine and he runs terrific contests too.

Smile Politely’s Food section. Smile Politely is Champaign-Urbana’s online magazine. You can definitely feel the midwest influence on the recipes and tips on this site. I am eternally grateful for the Roasted Tomato Sauce  and Crunchy Dill Pickle recipes that I now swear by. (I did slightly modify the pickle recipe here.)

Digital Photography School – I’ve learned so much about digital photography since I’ve subscribed to this blog. For example, this tutorial on the 5 Elements of Composition in Photography. The information is presented in a clear manner that makes it easy to follow. Therefore I’m motivated to grab my camera and practice what I’m learning. I think this is a must for amateur photogs like me.

Speaking of photography, I also enjoy browsing the Friendly Brown Blog. This blog is about photography and knitting. Believe me, it’s a winning combination. Her specialty? Fingerless gloves. She gets orders from all over the world. Her work is beautiful.
