Butterflies & Bloody Marys in Naples Florida

by Kimberly Hickok

In April we went to Naples, Florida for our annual visit with my mother-in-law. Every year we go to one of our favorite restaurants, The Dock Restaurant at Crayton Cove. We also try to do something new. On this visit we went to the Naples Botanical Garden.

One of the first things we saw when we entered the garden was something that made us feel right at home. We live near Saratoga Springs, NY. Saratoga Water, in its distinct blue bottle, is everywhere. And what did we see?

This planter has Saratoga Water bottles ‘planted’ in it.

We headed over to the Butterfly House in the Children’s Garden.

Viceroy or Monarch? They both look so similar.

Black Swallowtail (I think)

After that we just took our time and strolled through the gardens.

The bark on this Rainbow Eucalyptus tree is pretty neat.

After nearly two hours of strolling through the gardens, we decided to head over to The Dock for lunch. We’d been there earlier in the week, on Sunday, for brunch and their fabulous Bloody Mary bar (Sundays only!).

The Bloody Mary Bar – every Sunday at The Dock.

The finished product!

The view from outside.

The view from our table. Right on the water. Beautiful!
