Brussels sprouts with apples, rosemary and candied walnuts - easy and delicious.

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound brussels sprouts, halved
  • 1 large apple, cored and sliced
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary
  • For the candied walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts OR pumpkin seeds
Instructions
  1. For the sprouts:
  2. Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add brussel sprouts and apples. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add the rosemary and cook over medium heat, STIRRING OCCASIONALLY (you want to get a good brown on your sprouts) for 8 minutes or until tender.
  5. For the candied nuts:
  6. Melt butter and sugars in a small saucepan.
  7. Add the nuts and stir for about 2 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and set aside.
